The Craftman Story Project is a project carried out by the people of Ota Ward's factories and the voluntary students of Department of International Design and Digital Management(commonly known as IDM) ,Tokyo University of Science.
Ota Ward is home to craftsmen with skills that support Japan. The Craftman Story Project will focus on each craftman in Ota Ward, and students will interview them. We will then publish articles and videos produced by students based on these articles and videos through this website.

For example, at Iwai factory, the small factory we visited, Mr.Iwai has been manufacturing cylinders in his small factory by himself for 50 years! Iwai factory's cylinders are used in the 500- and 700- series Tokyo Shinkansen trains because of their advanced technology.
As you can see, there are many craftsmen in Ota Ward who support our daily lives with their high technology, despite their small scale.
